The Verderflex Hose and Tube Pumps range from small panel mounted pumps that can fit in a coffee machine up to very large industrial scale pumps for pumping sludge and slurry with particulates.
A peristaltic pump operates by compressing the hose or tube with a rotary cam. The liquid in the tube gets squeezed along the tube creating a pulsed flow. The magnitude of the pulse is system dependent and is often not detected.
When do you use a peristaltic pump?
Peristaltic pumps are generally used for low pressure transfer & dosing duties. For example, tranfering dirty waste water to a settling pond or drain. They can handle relatively large solids - the pumps have been used for transfering whole fish suspended in water previously, without damaging the fish. The smaller pumps in the range are often used for dosing detergent into washing plants, or chlorine into swimming pools.
Peristaltic pumps come into their own when the liquid's viscosity is <3.5cP and there is no compressed air available.
Verderflex also produce a range of cased scientific pumps for laboratory or pharma applications. The washdownable units are fully programable and certain models can be intergrated into the building control system.
These pumps are found built in machinery all over Ireland. Commonly used in takeaway coffee machines, milking parlour detergent dosing, methadone dispensing, and hundreds more applications these pumps are easily integrated into othermachines and are either 12v, 24v or 230v mains powered.
The OEM series are designed for light duties and are available with a comprehensive range of flow rates and speeds.
These pump are typically panel mounted, but can be easily mounted in several other ways amking them very versitile.
