Wright Flow Technologies offer some of the world's highest quality Rotary Lobe and circumferential piston pumps.
The 316L Stainless Steel Construction pumps are widely used in Pharmaceutical, Food & Beverage, Chemical and Dairy Industries and meet cGMP guidlines.
Why would I use a lobe pump or circumferential piston pump instead of a gear pump?
These pumps have a timing gear set built into them so that drive is not transmitted through the lobe surfaces, this results in a very clean operation.
The pumps have been designed to be easilty cleanable and some models have been designed to be fully CIP'able, self draining and hygienic.
In some cases, the liquid may be sensitive to sheer and mechanical forces - a lobe pump or circumferential piston pump can be more sympathetic to this.
So which do I need, a lobe pump or circumferential piston pump?
We generally recommend a lobe pump unless the application has attributes which are more suited to CPP, such as high discharge pressure requirement or low sheer requirement.
Model: Wright Flow Technologies Sterilobe
Type: Positive displacement rotary lobe pump
Sizes: 3/4" to 6"
Up to 2850 litres per minute
Up to 15 bar
This is the mainstay of the Wright Flow Technologies range, probably due to its industry leading standard specification.
Hygienic by design and very efficiently cleaned in place (CIP) this pump is the go-to pump for the pharmaceutical and Food Industry.
Standard specification includes: 316L Stainless Steel Construction, Up to 150 deg C capability, FDA Elastomers, Silicone Carbide Seal faces, biwing rotors.
The vast range of options include: USP Class VI elastomers, Low ferrite 1.4435 Wetted End, PTFE, EPDM or Viton elastomers, internal relief valves, multilobe rotors.
Common pharmaceutical surface finish specifications are also available on this pump including passivation and electropolishing.
Model: Wright Flow Technologies Revolution
Type: Positive displacement circumferential piston pump and rotary lobe pump
Sizes: 1.5" to 8"
Up to 3150 litres per minute
Up to 31 bar
The Revolution Series took the Wright TRA20 Series (Waukesha U2 compatible) and took the design principles of the Sterilobe and conbined them to form a pump which was a drop-in replacement for the Wright TRA10/TRA20 &Waukesha U1/U2, but inherited all of the industry leading deisgn features of the sterilobe.
This revolutionised design improved many of the original design features: The seals are now inboard behind the rotors which not only improves the effect of CIP, but also drastically reduces maintenance hours. The Mechanical seals can now be changed in 5 minutes as opposed to several hours with the older designs. The pump is available rotary lobe or circumferential pistion versions so that the pump performance can be tuned to exactly what the customer requires.
