Boerger Rotorrake
Description
Description
The Börger Rotorrake is a robust, single-shaft chopper specifically designed to handle challenging chopping tasks in an inline configuration. Engineered for reliability and strength, the Rotorrake excels in processing coarse solids and clearing blockages where other choppers may fall short.
This powerful unit features a unique design where blades and counter-blades are mounted consecutively along a central carrier shaft. The sturdy counter-blades are efficiently cleaned by the rotating cutting blades on both sides, ensuring consistent performance. Driven by a rotating shaft, the blades maintain a powerful chopping action that minimizes downtime and ensures smooth operation in even the most demanding environments.
The Rotorrake is available in various sizes with throughput capacities reaching up to 800 m³/h, making it suitable for a wide range of applications requiring coarse chopping. This chopper’s rugged build and effective blade configuration make it ideal for industries where reliable handling of coarse materials and removal of blockages are critical.
With its high performance, durability, and efficient design, the Börger Rotorrake is the go-to solution for heavy-duty chopping tasks in industrial settings.
Features
Operating Principle
The Rotorrake is a blockage-free single-shaft coarse chopper with radial flow and excellent extraction of hard substances. Its powerful chopping force enables the Rotorrake to be used in applications such as waste water processing for effective chopping of solid items.
The solids fed in with the liquid flow through the counter blades which are fixed at an angle. The solids are then captured by the counter blades and chopped by the cutting action of the rotating blades. The chopped solids then continue to flow with the liquid. Coarse objects which cannot be chopped are ejected into the debris collector.
Throughput volumes up to 800 m³/h (3,523 usgpm/h)
Reversible flow rate
Specifications
Rotorrake components

| 1-Quick-release cover | The cover to the interior of the Rotorrake allows quick access to all wetted parts. | |
| 2-Blade holder and counter blades | Robust blades and counter blades are mounted in alternating order. The fixed counter blades are attached. Blade and counter blades can be turned around to use on both sides | |
| 3 | Debris collector | When extracting hard solids, the blade rotates forcing the solids which cannot be chopped into the debris collector. |
| 4 | Block casing | The casing is produced as a single-piece block casing made of gray cast iron or stainless steel. |
| 5 | Drive | Three drive model versions are available: Parallel shaft helical gear motor, hydraulic motor, bearing carrier with bare drive shaft end. |
